Winfield Eugene Covington

Winfield Eugene Covington, son of the late Cressie Covington and William Covington Sr., was born on October 10,1943 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Winfield received his education at Indianapolis Public Schools. Winfield joined the Military early on in life where he fought in the Vietnam War and later retired from the Military with a Purple Star. 

Winfield worked at the Post Office for over 20 years until he retired in 2023. Winfield was a very kindhearted person who loved his family and would do any of everything for anybody Winfield would give his last to anybody who needed it. Winfield was known as “Winnie” to the people who he loved to joke with and make laugh. He loved to cook, listen to music and watch his YouTube videos and being around his family. 

Winfield Eugene Covington departed this life on Sunday, July 26, 2026 at the age of 82. His mother Cressie Covington, his father William Covington Sr., brother William Covington Jr., sister Joan Covington, Evelyn Williams, Davieda Rudolph, Bessie Anthony, Lilllie Humphrey, Charlotte Marshall and a few nieces and nephew who all proceeded him in death. 

Left to cherish his memories are his stepson, John Covington, stepdaughter Brenda Macon, his nieces, Henrietta Covington, Maria Humphrey, Melody Williams, Pauletta Rush, nephews Walter Covington, Isaac Humphrey, Charles Covington, James Williams, JW Parker, Ronald Rudolph, granddaughter Jenai Covington, grandsons Justin Covington, Dennis Washington and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
