Timothy A. Willoughby was born July 13, 1961 to Elizabeth Cranston and John “Pete” Johnson, both preceding him in death.
Tim enjoyed playing dominos and chess often with his brother and friends. He loved to compete in card playing spaces, listening to R&B music and telling corny jokes.
Tim attended Columbus High School in Columbus, IN, not graduating he obtained his GED. He attended Martin University receiving a certificate from the English Department on December 2,2010 later having to drop classes due to health issues. Tim successfully completed SCSEP (Senior Community Employment Program) on April 26, 2018.
Tim worked many jobs, but his last job as a prep-cook at Wheeler Men Mission was his most rewarding. He loved food and always came home discussing the menu of the day and his part in food preparation.
Tim loved the Lord confessing his faith at an early age in the Catholic Church Diocese. As an adult Tim was baptized in the Church of Christ on August 24,2008, under the leadership of Brother Stanley Hubbard at Kingsley Terrace COC. After several years he moved to the Hovey Street COC under the leadership of Brother Denell Howard, where he served in the Prayer Warrior Ministry and the Men’s Ministry (the old man ministry) with Brother Potts and Brother Ronald.
Timothy A. Willoughby departed this life on Sunday, July 27, 2025. Three brothers: Charles, Dre, and Anthony; a sister, Angela Waddell; uncle, Anthony Cranston; beloved nephew, Daman Ladd; and step-son, Charlie Mac, all preceded him in death.
Tim leaves to celebrate his life a devoted wife, Brendia Howard-Willoughby; son, Timothy Buchner; nine step-children: Denell Howard (Keisha), Brennet Howard (Damon), Toland Howard (Sharon) of Atlanta, GA, Alonzo Howard of East St. Louis, IL, twins: Michael King and Michelle King, Darren King, Charles King, and Drew Scott; three sisters: Kay Shelton (Fess), Tomasa Hause, and Chauntae King (Bernard) of St. Louis, MO; two brothers, Thomas Hause and John “Woobie” Booth of St. Louis, MO; a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
