On July 18,1947 in St. Louis, MO Thomas Crystal Long was born to Albert Long Sr and Carmelita Bordeaux Long & Raised by William & Helen Perkins of St. Louis, MO.

As a child of The Most Holy Rosemary Catholic Church and School welcomed Thomas, as a devoted Alter Boy. His happiness and pride were also displayed by earning the Eagle Scout Designation from the Boys Scouts of America. He later graduated from O’Fallon High School.

Thomas worked for General Motors, where he later retired. He also made himself and his family proud by serving OUR Country as a Marine in the United States Marine Corps.

Known as “Tommy” to everyone who loved him. A loyal and loving son, husband, father, and brother. He took care of his family, which was his pride and joy; and dedicated his time taking care of his neighbor's lawns and removing snow. In his spare time, he also enjoyed watching his favorite baseball team The St. Louis Cardinals and watching football.

Although Thomas's health declined over the past years, he held on and fought valiantly. Thomas soul went on peacefully in his sleep on March 24,2026 and into the arms of God. He leaves behind a devoted wife, Lavretta Long, and their loving son Dior Jones. Leaving found memories with his siblings Marie Long Murray, Josephine Newman, Roberta Long Brown, Ruth Long Douglas, Robert Burse, and Kenneth Harper, sisters-in-laws Sharon, Yvonne, and Jackie, in addition to several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Thomas present in death by his sisters Mariom Black, Carmelita (Bertie) Murray, Inez Long Moore, Gwendolyn Stribling, Sharon Long Moore, JoAnn Watson, and brothers Albert Long Jr., and Bredford Long, and son Damon (Forty) Jones.
