Shelia D. Burnette

A Celebration of Life for:

Ms. Shelia Denise Burnette 63, daughter the late Thomas (Sonny) Burnette, Jr. and the late Minnie Lee Harris was born December 25, 1959.

As a young child Shelia joined The Church of Jesus and professed her life to Christ where she remained a dedicated member. Shelia quietly departed this life and received her wings on Thursday December 28, 2023 surrounded by the love of her children.
She was the oldest of three siblings all born in Macon, GA.
Her dad later married Fannie Mae Burnette and they relocated to Indianapolis.

Shelia attended grade school, Junior High and High Schools of Indianapolis.

She was employed as head cook for several prestigious restaurants and medical facilities here in Indianapolis.

Shelia, was loved and will be sadly missed by many. She had several hobbies, but she thoroughly enjoyed gatherings with her family and friends because she was able to cook and make people happy.
If there were ever a celebration and one hadn't asked her to be the cook, "oh boy, that person hosting such gathering was going to definitely hear about it for a long, long, long time. Lol"

Shelia was most happy when she was in the presence of all of her children. In fact, her last outing was at a park where she was able to have all of her grandchildren together at the same time.
Anyone that knew Shelia knew that she absolutely adored her children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son Thomas Marshall, her dad Thomas "Sonny" Burnette, Jr., her mom Minnie Lee Harris, and her bonus mom Fannie Mae Burnette, that raised her starting at the age of 12.

Shelia's beautiful life and memories will forever be cherished by her children, Bernard Burnette (Tameka), Shontamae Burnette-Brown (Garey), and Eric Burnette of Indianapolis. One half sister: Linda Blassingame of Georgia. Her brothers: Cedric Burnett, l, Jonathan Burnett, Sr. (Daphne) all of Indianapolis and a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren, family & friends.
