Sarah graced this world on November 26, 1941. She was born in Mt. Pleasant, TN to Dave Lane, Sr. and Pearline Napier Lane who are both deceased. Growing up as the baby of seven, she had the opportunity to experience first-hand, the unconditional love of her parents and siblings.
Sarah was educated in the Mt. Pleasant Public School System and graduated from Clarke Training High School in 1959.
Sarah accepted the Lord as her savior early in life. She has been a member of Grace Apostolic, Bethesda Apostolic, Christ Church Apostolic, Christ Temple and Second Chance Restoration.
Sarah was employed at Lindner's Ice Cream in customer service; Wishard Memorial Hospital as a medical clerk and St. Vincent Hospital as a unit clerk.
Sarah relocated to Washington, D. C. after graduating from High School. She was united in Holy Matrimony to Willie B. Conger, who preceded her in death. From this union they were blessed with 3 sons. Fabian D. Conger, Rodney M. Conger and Anthony T. Conger.
Sarah later relocated to Indianapolis, IN and was united in Holy Matrimony to Gary E. Bentley, Sr., who preceded her in death. From this union they were blessed with 2 sons. Gary E. Bentley, Jr. and Kevin D. Bentley.
While attending Christ Church Apostolic, Sarah met Andrew Brown, Jr., who preceded her in death. They were united in Holy Matrimony in 1987.
Sarah was affectionately called by family and friends "C-Ann". Sarah loved the Lord and everyone who came in her presence knew this! Sarah loved her family! Before her illness, she read her bible daily. Sarah loved to shop for clothes and dress in those clothes!
Preceding Sarah in death are Clarice Lane Smith, Sister; Dave Lane, Jr. Brother; Helen Lane, Sister; Letha Mae "Pee Wee" Lane, Sister; and Allen Wilson, Brother.
Sarah leaves to cherish her memory, her brother Rev. Eugene Earl Lane, Sr., her sons Fabian D. Conger, Rodney (Eugina) Conger, Anthony (Monique) Conger, Gary Bentley, Jr. and Kevin D. Bentley. Aunt Helen Napier; 15 Grandchildren; 20 Great - grandchildren; 1 Great Great Grandchild; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Special thanks: Sherry Hardaway who came to visit regularly and never empty handed! Also, niece Wanda Lane who was always on hand when we needed a someone to watch Sarah as we moved to different locations. Finally, her special friend who she referred to as her "other daughter", Rochelle Dickerson who came to visit and was there when mama took her last breath. Thank you all so much and God bless!
