Sam Elmore, Jr.

Mr. Sam Elmore was born on July 14, 1935 in Friars Point, Mississippi to the late Sam and Daisy Elmore. Sam went home to be with the lord on Monday, March 11, 2024.

Sam spent his childhood in Friars Point where he was known to his loved ones and friends as “June Bug”. This nickname has stuck with him even to today. Sam attended the Friars Point School system.

Sam was united in holy matrimony to Elmer “Mae” Elmore on June 22, 1957. Sam moved his family to Indianapolis, Indiana in 1959, where they raised sons Samuel and Eugene. Sam was a long-time employee of Citizens Gas Company, until retiring in 2000.

Sam leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife; Elmer “Mae”, sons; Samuel (Veronica) and Eugene (Kimberly), grandchildren; Chernyta, Iwandra (George Sr.), Quinntia (Jermel Sr.), Eugene, Samuel Cory (Chelsea), and Jessica, sister; Ethel “PeeWee”, three sister n laws, seventeen great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Sam is preceded in death by his parents (Sam and Daisy), sisters (Lillian, Rose, Annie, Bernice), and brothers (George and Earl).
