On February 4, 1956, in Louisville Kentucky, ROBERT SHIRLEY ENGLISH JR., was born as a “GIFT FROM GOD” to the proud parents, Wanda and Robert Shirley English Sr. While living in Louisville, Kentucky, ROBERT JR. attended both public elementary and high school.
At very early age ROBERT JR. accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. Oh, what a joy and peace of mind!!
At the young age of 17 years old, ROBERT JR. relocated to Indianapolis, Indiana where he became gainfully and respectfully employed by the Department of Public Works, City of Indianapolis. ROBERT JR. enjoyed working for the City where he met and maintained many, many friendships. ROBERT JR. retired from the Department of Public Works on April 4, 2011 with 35 years of service.
ROBERT JR. enjoyed going to many sport events and was a loyal Colts fan! He enjoyed playing a good card game of spades. In his younger years, ROBERT JR. was a dedicated Golden Gloves Boxer. He also enjoyed going to the casinos where he had lots of luck playing the slot machines. On several occasions ROBERT JR. was lucky with playing the Hoosier Lottery! ROBERT JR. loved spending time with the multitude of friends and family that he had. His two sons, Deon and Keith, daughter Denise and captured his heart! ROBERT JR. was an awesome husband, dad, grandpa and great-grandpa. He also enjoyed attending church and praising God at The Rock Missionary Baptist Church to which he was a proud member.
But most of all ROBERT JR., loved spending time with the love of his life, his wife LaTangelia “Tammy” English to whom he spent a joyful, blissful and blessed 40 years of companionship and marriage.
ROBERT SHIRLEY ENGLISH JR. departed this life to join the Lord and his Angels on Saturday, January 9, 2021. His father, Robert S. English Sr., preceded him in death.
His memories are cherished by his wife, LaTangelia “Tammy” English; children: Robert Deon English, Keith LeVaughan English and Denise Cook; 12 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; mother, Wanda English; siblings: Darlene Jones (Robert), Rhonda English, Vanessa Johnson (Larry), Patrice English, Christy English and Rodrico English; aunt, JoAnn Hancock; 17 nieces and nephews; 36 great-nieces and nephews and 1 great-great-nephew; loyal and best friends: Eugene Frazier, Vaughn Cantrell and Carlos Bates; and a host of loving family and friends.
