Robert L. Cole Jr., the son of Robert L. Cole Sr. and Cornelia (Harris) Cole, was born May 18, 1927 in Nashville, Tennessee.  Robert was the oldest of four children born to this union.

He graduated from Pearl Senior High School and attended Fisk University.  Robert later enlisted in the military where he served in the United States Army and the Air Force for 25 years.  While serving in the military, he received several awards: Victory Medal WWII, Vietnam Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Longevity Medal, Air Force Service Ribbon and the Valor Service Medal.  Robert was educated and trained for Air Force Supervisor and instrument tech.

After retiring from the Air Force, Robert worked for Regency Electronics as Quality Control until the company went out of business.  He then went on to work for McMillan Publishing for over 30 years as a Computer Programmer.

He loved to cook, especially barbeque and chili.  Robert could repair anything that has an electrical cord attached to it. He also enjoyed upholstery work and loved spending time with his family.  He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #55 where he once held an office.

Robert accepted Christ at Messiah Missionary Baptist Church and was baptized by the late Rev. Albert Wadsworth.  He once held the office of President of the Usher Board.  He was a dedicated member until his health began to fail.  Psalm 23 was his favorite scripture.

Robert L. Cole Jr. went Home to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 27, 2020.  His wife, Marion (Booth) Cole; parents; and brothers, Phillip and Ewing Cole all preceded him in death.

He leaves to cherish his memory to his daughter, Joyce “Lainie” Banks; granddaughter, Danitra Arredondo (Jesse); grandson, Avery Snow Sr.; great-granddaughters: Reagan Oliver-Snow, Aniyah Hicks and Alessandra Arredondo; great-grandsons, Avery Snow Jr. and Mason Emanuel; brother, Joe Cole; “play” daughter, Jewell Williams (Charles); a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
