Robert Lee Evans, lovingly known as Bob, passed away on Monday, January 12, 2026, at 4:08pm surrounded by love, leaving behind a legacy of strength, devotion, and generosity. Born in Indianapolis, Indiana, he graduated from Ben Davis High School, where he competed in track. In 1966, he joined the United States Air Force, serving his country with honor. He was stationed in North Carolina before being deployed to Vietnam, where he worked on fighter jets, carrying his deep sense of duty, integrity, and commitment into every part of his life, including his many years of dedicated service before retiring from Ford Motor Company.
A devoted and loving father and grandfather, Bob found his greatest joy in his family. He was selfless to his core, always putting others before himself and offering help without hesitation. Known as a true jack of all trades, there was little he could not fix, build, or figure out, and he did so with pride.
He had a love for fishing, but bowling was his greatest passion. His humor, skill, and competitive spirit created lasting memories for all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Sr. and Juanita Evans; brothers: Darren, Doyle, Vernon, and William; sister, Arlene; granddaughter, Camry Brown-Farias and great-grandson, Chance Farias.
He leaves behind his cherished daughter, Nina (née Evans) Moore whom he lovingly referred to as “Nick”; son-in-law, Tony Moore; sons, Teddy Brown and Charles Hodge; grandchildren: Jade Moore, Kaiden Moore, Torry Brown and Danielle Hodge; brother, Van; sister, Christine; along with many extended family members and friends who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
Though Bob is no longer with us, his love, lessons, and legacy will live on through the generations he touched so deeply.
