RANDALL LYNN MCRAE “Randy” was born October 9, 1957 to Fairlie D. McRae Sr. and Stella Mae Scott McRae.
Randy attended the Bartholomew County Consolidated School Corporation and graduated from Columbus North Senior High School Class of 1976.
Randy joined the United States Army, later joining the Army National Guard where he was a Sargeant in the 1438th Transportation Company. He was a Desert Storm Veteran among many other missions. Randy retired from the National Guard after 20 years of dedicated service.
Randy had given his life to the Lord as a teenager at Second Baptist Church of Columbus, Indiana under the leadership of Reverend Elzie Lawler. As an adult he served the Lord though The Father's House of Indianapolis, Indiana under Pastor Christopher T. Holland. Randy served in many ways in the service of the Lord at the church and throughout the city. As a Deacon and Elder he was faithful in his duties. He was diligent in his studies, earning a graduate degree from Supernatural Ministry Training Institute (SMTI). He was also a member of Seal Team One, as well as a member of the Praise and Worship Team.
Randy's hobbies consisted of playing baseball and Marshall arts. He loved all kinds of music and playing his guitar was his passion.
Randy was employed by Arvins in Columbus, Indiana. After relocating to Indianapolis, he was employed by Steak n Shake as a Team Lead for many years. He always said, "Breakfast is the most important meal of the day." Lastly, Randy was employed at the Veterans Hospital of Indianapolis.
Randy transitioned to his new life on Friday, January 9, 2026 at 5:25p.m. His parents and brother, Fairlie Daniel McRae Jr. “Danny”, preceded him in death. He leaves to cherish his memory: sisters, Sally Haskin (Paul) and Teresa Wilson both of Indianapolis, IN; two nieces, nine nephews and seventeen greats and ten great-great nieces and nephews. He also leaves uncles, Daniel, Emment, Robert and Alec McRae all of Rennert, North Carolina and a host of cousins and friends.
It was stated by our grandfather, Reverend Donnie C. McRae, “No matter how long a person lives, they never live long enough for someone who truly loves them.”
Randy will truly be missed by many
