Pastor & Prophet John Henry Powell II

John Henry Powell II, was born on November 28,1932 to Reverend John H. Powell Sr. and Carrie Mae Powell in West Point, Mississippi.

He waved goodbye to this life peacefully at home in his sleep. Monday, April 14, 2025.

He is survived by his devoted wife Maynett Powell, the love of his life for 72 years. Maynett a saved wife, and mother of their 12 children. He will truly be missed by all. Rest in The Lord, My Dear Husband.

To their union was born 8 Anointed Daughters known to walk in their father’s Godly footsteps.

Apostle Mary H. Powell, exemplifies Love.

Prophetess Bobbie Powell, exemplifies, Boldness.

Missionary Queen Penman, exemplifies a Fiery Spirit.

Apostle Bernice Joy Powell, A Messenger of Good News.

Missionary Pearl Hill, A Powerful Intercessor Apostle Donna Powell, exemplifies Peace.

Missionary Jacqueline Powell, God’s Firebrand and Sis. Pamela Powell, The one with A Heart of Compassion.

Also, to their union was added 4 Loving and Supportive Sons:

Minister John H Powell III, A Godly Man that exemplifies the same Godly Anointing that his Father had. (wife: Levoria Powell)

Steve Powell, A man of Compassion with a Quiet Spirit. (wife: Jamie Powell)

Antonio Powell, A kindhearted man.

Deacon Marcus Powell, A Lover of The Word of God. (wife: Tania Powell)

John truly lived a life dedicated to his Heavenly Father. He loved The Lord with all of his heart and The Lord bestowed upon him the Office of a Pastor which he walked in throughly for 42 years. Oh, what a Wonderful Pastor he was. Laboring in The Lord’s vineyard.

He worked as a Construction Worker for many years in and around downtown Indianapolis, and at Chrysler doing various jobs.

His Beloved Family Members that transitioned prior to him.

Father: Reverend John H. Powell Sr,

Mother: Carrie Mae Powell,

One Sister, Liza Mae Cox.

Brothers: Elder Lee A Powell, Elder George Powell, James Powell, Will Ed Powell, and Alex Powell

There Remains Three Surviving Sisters: Catherine Watkins, Moderene Cannon and Annie C Ford (spouse Eugene Ford) All of West Point, Mississippi.

There’s a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends all heartbroken and missing him dearly.

Pastor John will always be remembered for showing love and kindness to others. He encouraged the saints to stay faithful and stay with God. He was an Anointed Pastor and Preacher and truly a Man of Faith.

One of his favorite scriptures was, Matthew 28:20b, Lo, I am with you always even unto the end of the world.

“Serving The Lord Will Pay Off After While”

Truly, He was a Man sent from God and yes, His name too, was JOHN.
