Mr. Stacey H. Garvin

Born in 1949 to Florence Crawford and Samuel Garvin Jr. in Indianapolis, In, the middle child of 5. He attended Shortridge HS (1964-1968) where he was active in ROTC and met his high school sweetheart and future wife, Michelle Smith.

He was drafted to Vietnam in 1968. He returned after 5 1/2 months a double amputee, the result of an enemy rocket grenade.

Stacey and Michelle married December 11, 1971. They would raise 4 children together – 2 girls and 2 boys. The family relocated to California for a period of time 1972- 1979, where Stacey earned an AA in Business Management from Palomar Community College, San Marcos, CA.

Upon their return to Indiana, Stacey entered a VA rehab program as an apprentice gunsmith. He was an honor graduate of the North American School of Firearms, Newport Beach, Ca. He became a master gunsmith under the apprenticeship of master gunmaker David Trevallion. He was also a gun dealer and firearms consultant to legal authorities and local police for over 30 years.

In addition to raising their own children, they were foster parents to many children from 1984- 1991.

Stacey is proceeded in death by his wife – Michelle (2018) and 3 of his siblings. He is survived by his 4 children- Tanisha Garvin, Christopher (Deanna) Garvin, Chelsea (Jerald) Thomas and Joseph (Essence) Garvin. He also leaves behind 16 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and 2 siblings – Steven Garvin and Karen Garvin Cloud.
