Mildred Fitts

MILDRED (Millie) LAND FITTS was born to Jennie V. Newman on August 5, 1918 in Lexington, Mississippi. She was the oldest daughter of her 8 siblings.

At an early age she moved to Chicago, Illinois, where she attended Cortrz Peters Business College and earned a business degree. Shortly thereafter she was employed as an Executive Secretary for the United Auto Workers Union for a number of years. She earned accolades as a stellar employee.

She was united in holy matimony to William (Bish, Bill) Henry Fitts. She said she wanted to be the very best wife that she could be; and she succeeded as a wonderful wife. She devoutly and lovingly cared for William as he struggled with a debilitating illness for a 15-year period prior to his demise.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories:

Daughter: Dolores Jones of Ponte Vedra, Florida

Grandsons: Kirk Fitts Markham and Lonnie M. Hubbard

Both of Lawrenceville, Georgia

Brother: Clarence Newman of Chicago, Illinois

Nephew: R.B. Cain and his swife Anna; and a host

of other nieces and nephews

She was preceded in death by:
