Lottie B. (Cole-Jones) Anderson, the eldest daughter of Lonnie Cole and Bessie (Hart) Jones was born August 4, 1941, in Osceola, Arkansas. She was also raised by her adoptive father, the late James Jones.
She grew up in Morocco and Poplar Bluff, Missouri, where she was educated and later moved to Indianapolis, Indiana in the early 1960s with her husband and children.
Lottie was united in Holy Matrimony to Lewis Anderson, Sr. on June 18, 1959, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, and to this union six children were born. Lottie and Lewis were blessed with 65 years of marriage until her passing.
Lottie worked as a CNA (Certified Nurse Aide) and later QMA (Qualified Medicine Aide) for over 56 years until she retired in 2018. She worked at Anthony Hall Nursing Home, Barton House Convalescent Care, Capital Care Nursing Home and B & B Healthcare.
Her passion in life was caring for people, especially the elderly. She was a nurturer at heart and a phenomenal and absolutely amazing caregiver to her eldest son Calvin, whom she faithfully cared for until her health failed.
Lottie confessed her life to Christ, was a devoted Christian and truly loved the Lord. She was a long time and faithful member of True Vine Missionary Baptist Church for over 34 years and served diligently on its Usher Board and assisted with Sunday School as a Secretary.
She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family, especially the holidays. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, putting jigsaw puzzles together, word scrambles, shopping, fishing, listening to her most favorite gospel quartet singer, the late Lee Williams, and other quartet singers, as she loved gospel quartet music. Lottie also enjoyed watching her favorite basketball team play, the Indiana Pacers.
Lottie was loved and admired by many. She had a beautiful, sweet, kind, caring, and loving personality. She will be greatly missed.
Lottie departed this life on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at the age of 83 years, 9 months and 17 days. After a 7-year battle with dementia, she has been restored and received back into the loving arms of her Heavenly Father.
Her parents; son, Lewis Anderson, Jr.; sisters: Rosetta Jones, Oscie Miller and Bobbie Anderson; brothers: Michael “MC” Gardner, Lonzo Cole and LD Leonard, all preceded her in death.
She leaves to cherish her memory: husband, Lewis Anderson, Sr.; six children: Calvin Anderson, Chrisella Parrish (Alec), Vivian Helms (Paul), Lottie Inez Anderson, Walter Anderson, and Odell Love (Audrey) of Clarksville, Tennessee; thirteen grandchildren: Janetta Kendrick (Richard), Donika Anderson, Shondrika Anderson, Amber Edmonds (George III), Tamika Anderson, Breanne Ledford, Brittany McReynolds, DaYonna Finley, Geavonna Anderson, Shonika Anderson, Christian Jackson, India Anderson, and Torreann Jones; twenty-one great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a devoted and loving sister-in law, Peggy Lee Carter; a special dear friend, Berder Johnson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, friends and church family.
