LaTrena E. Anthony

LaTrena Elaine Anthony, daughter of the late Maurice Fisher and Sandra Anthony, was born on September 8, 1972, in Indianapolis, Indiana. From the moment she arrived, she brought light, love, and joy to everyone around her.

She graduated from Northwest High School and was a member of Temple of Believers under the leadership of Bishop James Humbert. At one point in her life, she served on the Nurses Board at the church, where her gentle spirit and compassionate heart shone brightly. LaTrena cared for others with patience, kindness, and genuine love. Most importantly, she believed in God and accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, a faith that guided her throughout her life and gave her strength in every season.

LaTrena was admired not only for her strong work ethic but for the love she poured into everything she did. Whether at Christopher’s, Bob Evans, or MCL, she did not just build a career—she built relationships. As she moved into management, she earned respect because she treated people fairly and with genuine care. Her coworkers knew they could count on her, not just as a leader but as a friend. Her leadership was not about titles or authority; it was about lifting others up, listening when someone needed encouragement, and making sure everyone felt valued. LaTrena had a way of turning even the hardest days into something lighter. She did not just brighten rooms, she brightened lives, and people naturally gravitated toward her loving spirit.

LaTrena was strong, caring, and selfless—she would truly give you the shirt off her back. Growing up, she was a hardworking woman who often held two jobs to provide for her son and daughter. Even in her quiet moments, she found joy in simple things, like sitting in her room watching American Idol or The Voice while laying with her beloved dogs, Cujo and Boss.

She was everyone’s “go-to” person—the problem solver, the event planner, the rock of the family. LaTrena wanted peace and unity above all else, always encouraging her loved ones to get along. She often reminded others, “I don’t treat people how they treat me, because that blocks your blessing.” Her wisdom and her heart made her the peacemaker who held everyone together.

Family was her greatest love. Whether she was at the casino, playing spades with her card-playing family, or enjoying online games, LaTrena’s joy came from being surrounded by those she loved. She wanted everyone to stick together, always. She also enjoyed doing her makeup, making sure she looked cute and confident, because she believed in carrying herself with pride.

Her biggest holiday was July 4th, when she proudly hosted family and friends for a day filled with laughter, good food, and fireworks. She invited everyone to come out and enjoy themselves, never worrying about how much she spent—her only concern was making sure everyone had a wonderful time surrounded by love and togetherness.

Her cooking was another gift we will deeply miss, especially her famous chicken and dressing, which always brought comfort and joy to the table.

In her own words, LaTrena said she would be missed here on earth—and she was right. Her unique spirit and unforgettable personality made her one of a kind. She had a gift for seeing the good in every bad situation, and even when people wronged her, she still found love for them. That was who LaTrena was a woman of strength, compassion, and grace, whose love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

She leaves to cherish her memory her fiancé, Shelby Moffat; son, Carl Anthony (Jaquetta); daughter, Ariana Chandler; beloved grandchildren: Carl Anthony Jr., Hailey Anthony, Jcyria Anthony, Jdhavion D. Simmons, Alayah Chambers, Courtez Ward, and Ca’Vonie Chandler. She is also survived by her brothers, Keith Anthony and Damon Walker; sisters, Chrischelle Anthony and Nechelle Anthony; uncles: Robert Anthony, Pastor Charlo Dale Burrell, Rodney Burrell, and Michael Wilson; aunts, Alice Hurt and Mary Ellen Floyd, who will forever hold her in their hearts. She also leaves behind her Godson, Marquess Ross; Goddaughter, Felicia Washington; dear friend, Alexis Hooten; and her cousin, Evangelist Diahann Johnson. She is remembered and loved by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends who will continue to honor her beautiful life.
