LaTasha Rachelle Burke

LATASHA RACHELLE BURKE was born May 23, 1986, in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was the loving daughter of Alesia Burke and Calvin Hughes. “Tasha,” as she was affectionately known by, graduated from Warren Central High School in 2006.

LaTasha was very smart and could have gone on to college, but she decided to pursue a trade instead. Tasha received her Nursing Aid certificate and license in 2012. She then went on to receive her license in Pharmaceutical Technology in 2015. She started out working at CVS and then went on to work at Safe Dose for many years.

LaTasha was saved and baptized at an early age at what was known at the time, Church of God M.P.G. of T. and then New Life Community Church of Truth. She loved her Pastor and church family very much. It was there that she made lasting family friendships. She was always willing to jump in and help in the church whenever she could. She loved doing the fun stuff.

During her personal time, LaTasha loved spending time with her two sons and her family. She was the glue the held us all together.

LaTasha loved planning family dinners and our Christmas pajama parties. She loved traveling and did not mind traveling by herself or with her boys and leaving everyone else behind. One of her sayings in this regard was, “Y’all playing around.” Tasha was a true fashionista. She made sure that not only did she look nice but that her boys did too. She prided herself on being able to accomplish this while staying on budget. LaTasha was full of life and love, but she was no plaything. When she loved you, she loved.

LaTasha departed this life and gracefully answered the call from Heaven to come Home on Tuesday, April 7, 2026. LaTasha was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ernest and Louise Burke, and Celestine Williams; three uncles and three aunts.

She leaves to cherish her memory her sons, Xzavion Collins and Emory Lengar; mother, Alesia Burke; father, Calvin Hughes (Marcella); siblings: Crystal Murray (David), Erica Hughes, Kevin Burke, and Nyla Wills; grandfather, George Hughes; ten nieces, eight nephews, and a host of great nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and extended family.

Tasha was a loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
