Katherine Yvonne Wooten (Hardin) Was born April 17, 1947, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Of mother Clara Wilson and father Lee Harden Jr. she was the oldest of four, Ronella, Tommy, and Linda (siblings). She was raised in Indianapolis, Indiana by her Great Aunt and Uncle, Ruth “Big Momma” Holcomb (Spaulding) and Wes “Big Daddy” Spaulding. In the Crosstown and Martindale neighborhood.
She attended School #56 in Martindale neighborhood and attended high school at Shortridge where she graduated high school. She went on to attend HBCU Central State where she did her Freshman year before deciding to come home and enter the workforce. She married to Floyd “Flop” Wooten in 1969 and moved to San Francisco where they had their only child together and her first child Brett “Flip” Wooten in 1970. Divorced years later when she met Roland “Dee” Denley and by 1975 they had a son together her 2nd child Roland “Bino”Denley Jr As a young student she loved to read, newspapers, encyclopedias, and dictionaries, and many different books. She also loved to write, poems, books, and short stories.
In her adult life she was a member of book club, she was a part of the School #56 Alumni. She has performed many different jobs such as truck driver, Paralegal, and mostly Administrative Assistant which is what she retired from. She has done many side jobs of writing papers and legal documents for many high end people such as people like Julia Carson, Mayors, and Governors, Lawyers such as Judy Hawley-Conley and other law firms whom she worked for. Kathi was outgoing, loving, positive, and a role model to her two sons, siblings, grandchildren, great grandchildren, family, and friends.
