JAMES EDWARD MEADOWS JR., AFFECTIONATELY KNOWN AS JUNIE, WAS CALLED HOME ON FEBRUARY 11,2024, AT THE AGE OF 68. HIS PASSING LEAVES A VOID IN THE LIVES OF THOSE WHO KNEW AND LOVED HIM, BUT HIS MEMORY WILL FOREVER SHINE BRIGHTLY IN THEIR HEARTS.
BORN ON MARCH 15, 1955, IN INDIANAPOLIS, IN, JAMES EMBARKED ON A REMARKABLE JOURNEY FILLED WITH LOVE, LAUGHTER, AND DEDICATION. HE ATTENDED IPS WENDELL PHILLIPS 63 AND GEORGE WASHINGTON HIGH SCHOOL, WHERE HE DISTINGUISHED HIMSELF AS AN EXCEPTIONAL ATHLETE.
THROUGHOUT HIS HIGH SCHOOL TENURE, JAMES SET ATHLETIC RECORDS, LEAVING A MARK ON THE SPORTS COMMUNITY.
JAMES'S LIFE WAS BLESSED WITH THE BIRTH OF TWIN BOYS, JOSHUA ISAIAH MEADOWS AND JAMES EDWARD MEADOWS III, FROM A PREVIOUS UNION. LATER, IN APRIL 2002, HE FOUND LOVE AGAIN.
HE WAS UNITED IN MARRIAGE TO ANGELISA MEADOWS. THEY WERE BLESSED WITH A DAUGHTER, ONICA B. MEADOWS, FROM THEIR UNION. HIS CHILDREN FONDLY REMEMBER HIM AS A GENTLE GIANT AND AS A CHARISMATIC INDIVIDUAL WHO LOVED TO TELL JOKES AND WAS ALWAYS THE LIFE OF THE PARTY.
APART FROM HIS FAMILY, JAMES DEEPLY LOVED FISHING, MUSIC, AND GOD. HE WAS A PROUD CHRISTIAN AND DEDICATED MEMBER OF LIGHT OF THE WORLD CHRISTIAN CHURCH, WHERE HE SERVED AS THE CHIEF ARMOR BEARER AND SECURITY FOR BISHOP T. GARROTT BENJAMIN JR.
HIS PASSION FOR YOUTH LED HIM TO SPEND A SIGNIFICANT PORTION OF HIS CAREER AS A DRILL SERGEANT IN VARIOUS SCHOOL SYSTEMS AND YOUTH PROGRAMS, WHERE HE WORKED TIRELESSLY TO SHAPE AND MOLD AT-RISK YOUTH TO OVERCOME THEIR CIRCUMSTANCES.
IN THIS TIME OF GRIEF, THE FAMILY REQUESTS YOUR PRAYERS AND LOVE AS THEY NAVIGATE THROUGH THIS LOSS. THOUGH JAMES MAY HAVE DEPARTED FROM THIS EARTHLY REALM, HIS MEMORY WILL LIVE ON ETERNALLY IN THE HEARTS OF ALL BLESSED TO HAVE KNOWN HIM.
JAMES IS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY HIS PARENTS, JAMES EDWARD MEADOWS SR. AND ALBERTA LEE MEADOWS, HIS DAUGHTER, ONICA B. MEADOWS, AND HIS SISTER, SHERRY MEADOWS SWEENEY.
HE LEAVES TO CHERISH HIS MEMORY HIS BELOVED WIFE, ANGELISA MEADOWS, HIS SONS, JOSHUA ISAIAH MEADOWS AND JAMES EDWARD MEADOWS III, HIS STEPSON, ISAAC NEVILLE, GRANDSON, ISRAEL NEVILLE, SISTER, MELODY MEADOWS SANDERS, BROTHER, SAMUEL T. MEADOWS, SR.
