James Wesley Carneygee III

Emblem

James Wesley Carneygee, III (lovingly known as Jamie), was born November 9, 1978, in Gary, Indiana to loving parents, James and Denise Carneygee. James truly loved his family and accepted Christ into his life at an early age. He was a 1997 graduate of Emerson School for the Visual and Performing Arts.

Shortly after completing high school, James enlisted in the USMC, James was honorably discharged from the military as a LCPL in 2001. He secured employment at DFAS Financial Center as a supervisor of AM&C/Air Force Central Fund Division. James exceled at this job so much so that he received numerous awards during his 10 years of employment.

In early 2000, James met the love of his life, Shona, and in 2012, they relocated to Indianapolis, where they eagerly awaited the arrival of their only child, Skylar James Carneygee. James was a proud and caring husband, and father. He was a humble man with a sweet spirit, and he wore his heart on his sleeve. His love of sports surpassed all understanding. He also loved old school music. James was a blessing to all that he came in contact with. Our dearest James transitioned on May 26, 2024, after a short illness. James will be truly missed.

He was preceded in death by his father James W. Carneygee, Jr., paternal grandparents James W. Sr. and Ruth Carneygee, maternal grandparents, Clarence Culley and Willa Mcintosh, Uncle, Stanley Culley, Aunt Annette Carneygee and mother-in-law Kathryn Collins.

Left behind to cherish sweet memories are his loving and devoted wife, Shona; beloved son, Skylar; loving mother, Denise; dear sisters Kristina (Harris) Brown, and Augusta Carneygee; dearest niece, Marissa Carneygee, two sisters-in-law Monica Thomas and Carol Johnson, two brothers-in-law Anthony Collins and Harris Brown including a host of dear relatives and friends.
