Gloria Preyer was born April 9, 1950, in Monroeville, Alabama to Lee Allen and Josie Faye Ingram, the eldest of ten.
Throughout her life, she maintained a strong advocacy for education, encouraging her children to higher education and achieved the same. She enjoyed cooking, spending time with her children and grandchildren, and reading books. She had a strong sense of adventure that included traveling, fishing, and fine dining. She was a dedicated wife, a wonderful mother who nurtured her children and grandchildren, instilling in them respect for self, self-discipline, and treating all people with dignity and compassion. She enjoyed attending church, believed in and taught the love and sacrifice of Jesus Christ. She advocated for teenage girls, understanding the hardships of teenage pregnancy, while overcoming obstacles through education and hard work. She had a tenacious spirit, a "never give up" mentality in pursuing one’s goals and dreams. Gloria will always be known as a kind and altruistic woman, leaving a legacy of joy, a deep and godly love for others, and a smile that complimented the sun. She will be dearly missed yet a warm and fond memory in the hearts of everyone that she touched.
She is preceded in death by four siblings and her husband Paul Preyer, Sr.
Gloria leaves behind a legacy of four wonderful children; Paul Preyer, Jr, Antonio Preyer, Angela Preyer, and Latoria Preyer and a host of beautiful grandchildren, great grandchildren whom she adored and five siblings.
