Mr. George Stanley Oakley better known as “Stan”, was born to George P. Oakley and Dorothy Oakley on April 13, 1950 in Indianapolis, Indiana. He accepted Christ as his savior at an early age.
Stan received his education through the Indianapolis Public School system. He graduated from Arsenal Technical High School in 1968. Upon completion of high school he joined the United States Marine Corps. After faithfully serving this country he would go on to work at Jenn – Air, where he would later retire.
Stan was a devoted father, grandfather, brother and friend. He loved spending quality time with his daughter and grandchildren.
Stan departed this life on Friday, January 15, 2021, at the age of 70 years old. He was proceeded in death by both parents; George and Dorothy Oakley and three sisters Eva, Margree and Beatrice Oakley.
Stan leaves to cherish behind two daughters, Nekole Oakley and Tameka Bridges; two granddaughters, Daliyah Riding and Aija Howard; two grandsons, Amazen Stevenson and Garry Howard; a life long friend Beverly Moore; and sisters, Georgetta, Dorothea, Mary, Charlene Oakley, Valerie Garner (Richard); brothers, Gregory, Jerome, John, Charles P., Charles E. Oakley and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
