General Lee Carter

Indianapolis, IN

General Lee Carter, the sixth of ten children (nine boys and one girl), was born July 31, 1931 to Josh and Pearlie (Mahoney) Carter in Mansfield, Louisiana.

 

He graduated from Desoto Parish Training School. Later, Mr. Carter joined the United States Army in 1953, after relocating to Indianapolis, Indiana. He received an Honorable discharge for his service to this country.

 

General was a longtime member of Mt. Paran Baptist Church, under the leadership of Reverend T. D. Robinson.

 

After 26 years of being a dedicated employee, Mr. Carter retired from Allison Transmissions where he worked on the blower line.

 

General Lee Carter departed this life on Thursday, May 18, 2023 at the age of 91 years.

 

He was a very loving husband, and leaves his wife of 62 years, Glodene Carter; son, Errol Carter; brother, Jerome Carter; and a host of nieces, nephews, loving family and friends.
