Eva L. Moody

Eva L. Moody was born December 1, 1940, to the union of Andrew Thomas Benberry and Mary Frances Haley in Grand Rivers, Kentucky.

She attended Lincoln Ridge high School and graduated top of her class. She moved to Indianapolis in the early 60’s where she married Billy C. Moody which preceded her in death. They were married for over 50 years. She went on to attend the Madame C. J. Walker Institute, where she received her cosmetology license which she was very proud of. She worked for Western Electric some years later until the closing of the company and then worked for St. Vincents until she retired in 2005.

Aunt Eva loved her family, she loved her nieces and nephews like her own children. Aunt Eva’s house was the fun house, the gathering place and the party house.  You never needed an invitation to come to her house, her doors were always open.  Aunt Eva was kindhearted, loving and would give you the shirt off her back and the shoes off her feet. Aunt Eva had a HUGE heart of GOLD.

Aunt Eva loved traveling, cooking Sunday dinner, listening to Blues music with family and friends in her garage fondly known as the “Barn” on Sundays.

Aunt Eva had a 1971 butterscotch colored Mustang with a plate on the front that said “Disco Lady”. She loved Johhny Taylor music as well.

Aunt Eva leaves to mourn her memories; 3 sisters, Brenda Rhodes, Lillian Fry(David), Barbara Harding(Basil); 1 brother, Cornelius Benberry and a host of other nieces and nephews.
