Elizabeth J. Campbell

Elizabeth Jane “LJ” Campbell (nee Reynolds), 94, of Indianapolis, Indiana, returned home on March 5, 2025.

Elizabeth was born in Indianapolis on April 17, 1930 as the third of five children to Ulus and Ruth Reynolds (nee McElwain). She graduated from Crispus Attucks High School in 1950. In 1953, she married Jack Campbell and they had three children: Jack Jr. "Buster", Annette, and Robert. Elizabeth was a housekeeper for many families and was an active member of Campbell Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church. She loved to garden, watch westerns and soap operas, laugh, collect pictures for her photo wall, drink caffeine free diet Pepsi, eat donuts and sugar free chocolate, and wanted to feed and help anyone who came across her doorstep.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by many beloved family and friends including her parents; her siblings: Lois Reynolds, John Reynolds, Roscoe Reynolds, and Mary Gibson; her husband, Jack; her son, Buster; and son-in-law, Lee Sibley.

She is survived by her daughter, Annette Sibley; son, Robert Campbell; daughter-in-law, Stephanie Albright; grandchildren: Mary Katherine Fitzpatrick, Amber Voss (Stefan), Kellye Sibley (Aaron Haag), Brittany Leary, Janetta Crouch (Allen), and Carmisha Sodiq (Abdulakeem); nine great-grandchildren; along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, and close family friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Paralyzed Veterans of America and March of Dimes.
