Dorothy M. Howard

Dorthy M. Howard, daughter of the late Zonia Mae and Curtis Parson, was born on October 25, 1941, in Cold Water, Mississippi. The family remained in Mississippi; her father was a farmer and later in life they moved to Indianapolis, IN.

Dorthy attended grade school and high school in Indianapolis. She graduated from Short Ridge High School.

Dorthy was a member at Community Baptist Church for years, with the late reverend Cheffin Pastor. Later she became a member at Unity Fellowship Baptist Church with the pastor being Pastor Thomas.

Dorthy was employed at R.C.A. until the company closing and then went on to be a Lawerence Township Schools bus driver until she retired.

Dorthy M. Howard departed this life on February 1,2026 at the age of 84 years old. She was proceeded in death by her parents: Zonia Mae and Curtis Parson; sister: Velma Lyles; brothers: Curtis Parson Jr., Jesse Parson, Ralph Parson, Charles Parson, and Jerry Parson; Grandson: Tyrone Echols.

To cherish her memory, she leaves to morn her loss husband: Milton L. Howard (married on her birthday October 25,1969 56 years); daughters: Miranda Howard, Brenda Echols (Joe); grandsons: Terrence Echols (Taylor) and Terrell Echols (Brittany); great grandchildren: Raelyn Echols, Ezekiel Echols, Xavier Echols, Brielle Echols, Temarri Echols, and Josiah Echols; brothers: Correl Parson (Vessa), Chester Parson (Gearldine), Robert Parson (Sandy). Host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and many friends.
