Deborah Ann Williams-Etheridge

Deborah Ann Williams-Etheridge, “Debbie,” was born June 10th, 1965, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Acie J. Williams, Sr., and the late Dorothy Williams. She attended and graduated from Northwest High School in 1983 as an accomplished student. Methodist Hospital employed Debbie for 18 years; she also worked temporary jobs before working at Ameripath until her death. She married the love of her life, Duane “Lee” Etheridge, in 2008, although they had been together for years before that. Born from that union was her only child, Dujuan Etheridge.

Deborah began her Christian journey at Trinity CME Church and later joined Deliverance Temple Church, where, over the past 19 years, she served faithfully on the worship team. You could typically find Debbie wherever someone was in need—sickness, sorrow, a new journey through marriage, or the birth of a child. She was always giving. As the quiet architect behind the scenes, meticulous in every detail, ensuring every “t” was crossed, every “i” dotted, and every moment thoughtfully placed, characterized her strengths.

Debbie loved Jesus and discovered purpose as she completely surrendered her life to him, almost as if her real life began later in adulthood. She was indeed blessed and highly favored. She will be remembered for her huge heart, kindness, and love for family and friends. If she wasn’t praying for you, she was probably singing a song to encourage and uplift you—truly a devoted wife, mother, sister, daughter, aunt, and friend.

Debbie departed this earthly life on April 23rd, 2025, following the death of her husband, Duane “Lee” Etheridge, a few weeks prior. Also preceded by death are her mother, Dorothy Mae Williams; brother, Corey B. Williams; grandmother, Beatrice Robinson; grandfather, James Clyde Robinson; and uncles, Clarence Morris and John Robinson.

She leaves to cherish her memories are her loving son, Dujuan Etheridge(Rita) and his siblings [Stephen Etheridge, Rachel Etheridge, and grandson Stephen Etheridge Jr]; grandmother of 4 girls; father, Pastor Acie Williams Sr. (Kathy) Indianapolis; brothers, Acie Williams Jr., Tampa, FL, James Williams, Las Vegas, NV, and Aaron Williams (Dawn) of Washington D.C.; aunts Liz Morris (Clarence) of Murfreesboro, TN; Pearlie Walls of Memphis, TN and Corrine Matthews (James) St. Louis, MO; uncles Clyde Robinson (Mollie) of Memphis, TN, Wes Wright (Alberta) of Lake Cormorant, MS, and a host of nephews, nieces in the US and Germany, cousins, in-laws, and friends who love her so very dearly…you included.
