Mr. David “DC” Wayne Craig, the son of John and Barbara Craig, was born November 27, 1956, in Indianapolis, Indiana. He completed grade school at Indianapolis Public School #63 and two years of High School at George Washington High School. Later in life, he was able to attain his GED.
David joined the United States Army Reserve on October 10, 1976 and was assigned to the 329th Infantry Regiment, Indianapolis, Indiana. After serving his country, he received a discharge under Honorable Conditions.
David accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at an early age and was baptized at Martindale Church of Christ. However, during the early stages of his life, he veered away from his faith. But, by the grace and mercy of our Lord and Savior, David found his way back. On May 20, 2012, he became a member of Pathway Missionary Baptist Church, where he met and married his loving wife, Tonya Woodruff. Tonya and David were united in Holy Matrimony on September 29, 2012.
David had the natural ability to work well with his hands, and he could repair anything. He had the skills of a painter, builder, and electrician. David used his hands to help people and his heart to make meaningful and loving relationships. He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and great-uncle. He showed grace and mercy to everyone, and most of all, he had a heart that desired obedience to God.
David earned his wings on December 23, 2022, at 9:56 pm at age 66 and is now resting peacefully in his new body and eternal heavenly home.
David is predeceased by his father, John Craig; mother, Barbara Craig; brother, John Richard Craig; and his sister, Kim Renee Craig.
David leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Tonya Craig; daughter, Tonya Webb (Varsay); sisters, Ann Williams (Terry) and Trina Galloway (Endris); nephew, Joe Simmons; niece, Aisha Galloway; great-niece, Taliyah Galloway; great-nephew, Malachi Harrison; a host of loving family and friends.
