Daryl Lamont Chandler "Scooby"

Daryl Lamont Chandler lived a life filled with laughter, big smiles, and unforgettable moments. Born on July 1, 1971, in Indianapolis, Indiana to Willie and Mayme Chandler, Daryl brought a unique warmth and lighthearted energy into the world from day one.

Daryl grew up in Indianapolis, attending Lewis W. Gilfoy Indianapolis Public School #113 and T.C. & Steele School #98 before graduating from Arlington High School in the Class of 1989. To know Daryl was to know a true, gentle soul who never met a stranger and could brighten any room with his easygoing humor and kind heart.

A passionate fan of basketball, Daryl loved watching and talking about the game, always ready to debate the best plays or cheer on his favorite teams. When he was not keeping up with sports, you could often find him admiring classic cars, appreciating the craftsmanship and the timeless style of a polished vintage ride. Above all else, Daryl cherished the time spent with those he loved. Whether hanging out at family gatherings, cracking jokes, or catching up with old friends, he was happiest simply being in good company.

Daryl’s warmth, humor, and love for life will remain in the hearts of everyone who had the joy of knowing him.

His bright spirit, laughter, and loving memory will forever be cherished by his brother, Darren Chandler; sister, Daphanie Chandler; nephew, Koree Terrell (India); niece, Airionna Thomas; and great-nephew, Kyree Terrell. He also leaves behind a close-knit family of aunts, uncles, and cousins, alongside a wide circle of dear friends who will miss his jolly spirit deeply.

Daryl was welcomed home by his beloved parents, Willie and Mayme Chandler, who preceded him in death.

John 14:1-3

Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may also be.
