Daniel Paxton Shields

April 24, 2001 — July 7, 2021

Indianapolis, Indiana

Daniel Paxton Shields was the youngest child born into the loving care of David and Laura Shields on April 24th, 2001. He was treasured by his six siblings and extended family of the Pilgrim Baptist Church, then pastored by his grandfather Rev. S.R. Shields; he had a strong faith in God.

Paxton was educated in Lawrence at Brook Park Elementary, Belzer Middle School, and Lawrence Central High School. For the past year he worked as an Electrician’s Apprentice, wiring new and re-wiring old homes.

He leaves to mourn his passing: Laura (Mother), David Sr. (Father), Sandra (Stepmother), Tabitha, Jacqueline, David Jr. (Mallory), Candace, Hampton, Payton (Siblings), Tyrea Cannon (Betrothed), Amir (Son), aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, grandparents and a host of friends and extended family.

Always stylish, Paxton, loved art (self-created), adventure (of all sorts), and had a tremendous sense of humor. There was never a dull or boring moment if Paxton was nearby. For him life was to be learned, lived, and loved. He refused to be forced into normalcy. Paxton loved being a father to Amir and cherished having his young son near him.

Paxton was returned to the loving, merciful care of God on July 7, 2021.
