Christopher E. Hutchinson

There are some people whose names are remembered.

Then there are those whose presence is remembered.

Christopher Hutchinson was both.

Christopher Hutchinson was born on October 15, 1979. From the very beginning, he never believed in simply existing—he believed in living. He lived life unapologetically as himself, believing in making his own way, standing on his own foundation, and creating opportunities for himself. No matter how many times life knocked him down, Christopher found a way to rise again. Getting back up wasn’t simply something he did—it became part of who he was.

Christopher accepted Christ at an early age, planting seeds of faith that remained with him throughout his life. On Sunday, April 26, 2026, he rededicated his life to Christ. If you knew Christopher, you knew exactly where to find him on Sunday mornings—faithfully seated on the front row, ready to receive God’s Word.

He attended Arlington High School, later earned his General Educational Development (GED) diploma, and continued his education in college. Christopher wanted to become his own boss, and he did. As a self-employed entrepreneur, he believed in creating opportunities instead of waiting for them. He lived by the words, “Mama may have, Papa may have, but GOD bless the child that’s got his own.” Those words reflected the way he chose to live.

Christopher loved music and had an undeniable appreciation for old-school cars. They weren’t simply things he enjoyed; they were part of the life he embraced.

But if you asked the people who loved Christopher what they remembered most, they would not begin with the music or the cars.

They would begin with Christopher.

Or, as so many lovingly knew him—

simply, Chris.

He had a presence that could never be mistaken for anyone else’s.

He never simply walked into a room—

he arrived.

Before he ever spoke, something about him had already announced he was there. He believed the way you presented yourself spoke before you ever opened your mouth, and he lived that belief every day. He took pride in how he looked. He was well groomed, dressed with intention, and carried himself with a quiet confidence that belonged only to him.

Then there was that familiar scent.

The people who loved Christopher know there are some fragrances that don’t just remind you of someone—they stop you in your tracks. Even years from now, someone will catch that familiar scent, turn around without thinking, and, for the briefest moment, expect Christopher to be standing there.

That is the kind of impression he left.

Then came his smile.

It appeared so naturally that before long everyone around him found themselves smiling too. And that big ole’ full bottom lip—so unmistakably Christopher—was filled with love and kisses. It became one of those beautiful little details his family will never forget. Long after photographs have faded, they will still be able to close their eyes and see his face exactly as they remember it… beginning with those lips.

Then Christopher started talking.

He always had a story to tell—especially his side of the story.

Somehow, he had a way of telling it that made you believe every word. His expressions, his timing, the look on his face, and the way he painted every detail pulled you into the moment until you could almost swear you had been there yourself. By the time Christopher finished, you weren’t just listening to the story—you were seeing it through his eyes, whether every detail happened exactly that way or not.

People laughed and said Christopher could “sell water to a whale.”

Not because he talked the most.

Not because he talked the loudest.

But because there was something about the way he talked that made people want to listen. Christopher was persuasive. He had a gift for conversation, and his laughter had a way of filling a room. Time spent with him never felt wasted, because being with Christopher always became a memory.

He also had a way of loving people that didn’t always come with words.

His love was an action.

His love was complicated.

His love belonged to Christopher alone. It was given in a way that only he could give it, and received in a way that only those who loved him could truly understand.

He loved cooking. He loved standing over the grill, barbecuing for family and friends. He loved baking sweets to share with the people he cared about. Around Christopher, food was never just food. It became conversation. It became laughter. It became family. It became another memory that those he loved will carry for the rest of their lives.

Although Christopher was a father to many, the greatest reflection of his love lives on through his three beautiful daughters, Christiona Hutchinson, Stephanie Hutchinson, and Cherish Hutchinson. Through them, his smile, his strength, his love, and pieces of who he was will continue to live for generations yet to come.

Christopher leaves to cherish his memory his loving mother, Donna Drane; his biological father, Keith Hutchinson, whose love and influence will forever be a part of Christopher’s story; and his father, Jerome Cliff, whose unwavering love and guidance left an everlasting imprint on Christopher’s life. Each held a special place in Christopher’s heart, and each, in his own way, helped shape the man he became.

He is also lovingly remembered by his devoted fiancée, Raquaita Ingram; his siblings, Patrice Hutchinson, Jerome Cliff Jr., Joshua Cliff, Keith Hutchinson Jr., Chatney Grice, and Lashay Ervin; along with a host of nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins, extended family, and dear friends whose lives were forever enriched by knowing him.

On July 5, 2026, Christopher’s earthly journey came to an end, and he entered eternal rest, where he was reunited with his beloved little brother, Joshua Hopson.

Some people leave behind photographs.

Some people leave behind nicknames.

Christopher left behind feelings.

He left behind the feeling of looking toward the door because it felt like he had just walked in.

He left behind the feeling of hearing laughter before realizing it was your own.

He left behind the warmth of a smile that made others smile back.

He left behind stories that will be told for generations, meals that will never be forgotten, songs that will always bring him to mind, old-school cars that will make someone smile, and a familiar scent that will forever make the people who loved him stop… and remember.

Most of all, he left behind love.

The kind you can still feel.

The kind that outlives goodbye.

The kind that refuses to be forgotten.

Christopher’s life cannot be measured only by the years he lived, but by the lives he touched, the joy he shared, the memories he created, and the love he gave so freely.

He was not just someone you met.

He was someone you remembered.

He was an experience.

And for those blessed enough to have loved him, he will always be seen…

always be heard…

always be felt.

Christopher began this life as a Moma’s boy.

He wore many titles throughout his life—son, brother, father, fiancé, uncle, and friend.

But in the end, after everything life had given him and everything it had taken away, he was still…

a Moma’s boy.
