Charles Robert Blackwell

Mr. Charles Robert Blackwell, age 71, passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2016. Charles was born In Murphy, Nor Carolina. He graduated from Murphy High School on June 3, 1965. Charles joined the United States Army on December 13, 1965 and proudly served his country until he received an Honorable discharge on December 12, 1971. After his discharge from the military, Charles relocated to Indianapolis, IN. He was united in Holy Matrimony to Catherine Blackwell on April 5, 1992. Charles was born and raised under the Baptist teachings, but he was currently studying with Jehovah's Witnesses.

Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Blackwell; his parents; and brother, John L. Blackwell and Fred Blackwell, II. He leaves to cherish his memory: his son, Lonzo Coke; daughters, Angela Davis and Bernice Gee; seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren; sister, Laura Blackwell; and a host of other loving family members and friends. Graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 23rd at 11 am at Floral Park Cemetery, 425 N. Holt Rd.
