Mrs. Bernice Williams was born November. 4, 1934 in Tallulah, Louisiana Mount Rose Plantation to the late James Walker and Leola Taylor Walker.
Bernice Williams departed her life on April. 10, 2025. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Lee Williams, her parents James Walker and Leola Taylor Walker, her brothers Pink Stewart, Henry Stewart, James Walker, and Robert Walker, one brother in law L.C. Brooks, one daughter in law Peggy Walker and one great grandson Rodney Grubbs Jr.
Bernice attended Evening Star #2 Church and Old Adams Elementary School. Bernice accepted Christ as her savior and baptized at Jesus Church Assembly #1 on February 7, 1999 under the leadership of the late Pastor Roy T Offett.
Bernice was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Robert Lee Williams on January. 7, 1967. She moved to Indianapolis, Indiana in 1969 and worked at The Coca Cola Bottling Company where she later retired after working 27 years.
They resided at 27th Dearborn and later moved to 28th Olney, where they started Williams Variety Store and also started ownership of Williams Trucking Company LLC.
Bernice loved to go to church, going to different gospel singing services, shopping, gardening, and cooking, sewing, speeding time with her family, going to Marion Indians to visit with her sibling, and fishing with her sister Martha and Uncle Big Will. She had a real joy going riding with her son Bob and listening to her favorite gospel music. Bernice will be greatly missed.
Bernice leaves to cherish her memory 3 children Willie Walker from Marion Indiana, Cloria Walker and Robert Williams Jr. from Indianapolis, Indiana, and a bonus son James Davidson from Indianapolis, Indiana. 1 sister Martha Brooks, 1 sister-in-law Rosie Lee Walker, 2 brothers Cliff (Barbara) Walker and Leotis (Margaret) Walker from Marion, Indiana, 9 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 32 great great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. We are Louisiana Strong as her husband would say.
