Mr. Anthony Edward Scott, the son of Robert and Cathrean (Washington) Scott, was born March 1, 1954 in Detroit, Michigan.
At a young age, Anthony professed a hope in Christ as his personal Lord and Savior. He attended and was a member of Mount Carmel Baptist Church.
Anthony, affectionately known as “Tony”, attended primary school at Francis W. Parker School #56 and Hazel Hart Hendricks School #37. He attended Arsenal Technical High School, but transferred to John Marshall High School, where he graduated from in 1971. After high school, Tony joined the United States Navy and served his country for 4 years. He also attended Vincennes University and earned an Associates of Science in Engineering in 2000.
Tony worked at the US Army Finance Center as a Clerk. Then, he worked at Fort Benjamin Harrison as a Boiler Plant Operator. He also worked at Crane Naval Base, from where he retired in 1998. After a brief break, Tony began to work at Citizen Coke and Gas at their Boiler Operations. Later, he worked as a Custodian at Arlington Woods School #99 until he retired in 2014.
On November 12, 2016, Anthony was united in marriage to Mary Katherine Carter. He was a fun-loving person who enjoyed life to the fullest! He loved working on cars and riding his motorcycle! Tony was a loyal and giving person who loved his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Mr. Anthony Scott departed from life to eternity on Tuesday, February 21, 2023, at the age of 68 years, 11 months and 20 days. His parents precede him in death.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Mary K. Scott; one daughter, Jasmine Scott; three stepsons: Rodney Bailey (Katrina), Anthony Pennybaker Jr. (Yolanda) and Michael Pryor; two stepdaughters, Dionna McCane and Terriana Pryor; siblings, Arnold Scott (Scherryl) and Lagenia Blaine (James); stepsisters, Arvetta and Brenda Harrison; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, loving family and friends.
