Angalene "Angie" Young

ANGALENE YOUNG was born on April 11, 1950, in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was the beloved daughter of Mary and stepdaughter of Robert Lewis Glasco and the oldest sibling in her close-knit family.

Angalene attended and graduated from Crispus Attucks High School in 1968. Early in life, she committed herself to faith, receiving baptism in Jesus’ name and being blessed with the precious gift of the Holy Ghost. She faithfully attended Grace Apostolic Church, where she met the love of her life, Jerry L. Young, Sr. They married in 1969, beginning together a loving journey of 55 remarkable years.

Shortly after their union, Angalene and Jerry moved to Phoenix, Arizona, where they raised their family. During their 16 years in Arizona, they were blessed with six children. In 1987, the family returned to Indianapolis.

On Wednesday, April 9, 2025, Angalene peacefully transitioned from this earthly life at the age of 74. Her life was marked by steadfast faith, unconditional love for her family, and a spirit of generosity that touched all who knew her.

Angalene leaves behind cherished memories with her devoted husband, Jerry Young, Sr.; her children: Gayla Wise (Anthony), Vanessa Lavalah (Prince), Jerry Young Jr. (Rakiah), Wanique Young, Shenae Young, and Joel Young (Heather); her brothers: Gilbert Bush (Barbara), Quinton Glasco, Jeffery Glasco, Conzolas Glasco, and Anthony Glasco; and her sister Renita Glasco. She was preceded in death by her sister, Lavetta Glasco.

She also leaves a lasting legacy through her nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and a host of extended family members and dear friends. Angalene will be deeply missed, remembered fondly, and celebrated always for the joy, wisdom, and warmth she shared throughout her life.
