Alberta (Molyneaux) Hughes

December 7, 1944 — June 1, 2020

ALBERTA HUGHES, lovingly known as “Ms. A” and “The Ticket Lady”, was born December 7, 1944 to James Galloway and Margaret Molyneaux in Davy Hill, Montserrat, British West Indies.  She was the fourth (4th) out of nine children born.

ALBERTA was raised by her beloved grandmother, Ms. Ellen, and attended primary and secondary school in the Caribbean.  After leaving Montserrat, she moved to St. Thomas, Virgin Island where she met and married Gordon V. Hughes on June 23, 1965.  They received their naturalization papers and relocated to Indianapolis, Indiana where they earned their GED from Arsenal Tech High School in Indianapolis, Indiana.

ALBERTA and GORDON had a set of identical twins, Wilma Jean and Vanetta Arlean who were born on July 27, 1969 in Indianapolis, Indiana, but unfortunately Vanetta passed away on July 30, 1969

ALBERTA accepted JESUS Christ in her life in her early thirties.  She was a member of Phillips Temple CME Church where Oliver D. Walker is the Pastor.  At the Temple, she served on the Stewardess Board.

ALBERTA was employed with MSD Warren Township for over twenty (20+) years as a school Bus Driver.  As a lover of sports, Alberta worked for Lucas Oil Stadium, the Indianapolis Colts as well as MSD Warren Township Athletic Department.  She enjoyed her jobs and loved the people she came in contact with.

ALBERTA is preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, daughter, mother and brothers.

ALBERTA leaves to cherish her memories her husband, Gordon Hughes; daughter, Wilma Hughes-Sabatino (Domenic); honorary daughter, Amanda McCoy-Collins; sisters, Ada Piper and Annette Molyneaux; brothers: Alfred, James, Roy and Edward Molyneaux; grandson, Joseph Sabatino; granddaughter, Esa Sabatino; honorary grandchildren: Kalone, Miranda, Ejaaz and Zharia Collins; and a host of nieces, nephews, God children, cousins, aunts, uncles, Church family and friends.
