Mr. Willie James Chandler, the son of Timothy and Rosa Lee Chandler was born on November 20, 1944 in Pheba, Mississippi.

He received his elementary education in the Pheba, Mississippi Public Schools and graduated from Beasley High School in 1963.

Willie moved to Indianapolis, IN shortly after graduating from high school. Three years later, he united in Holy Matrimony to Mayme F. Patterson. To this union, 2 sons and a daughter were born.

He was employed at GM Allison Transmission for 40 years prior to retiring in 2006.

Willie was a gentle, loving, and caring sole. He loved spending time with his only two grandchildren, Koree and Airionna. He also loved sports, his favorite baseball team was the Los Angeles Dodgers.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his sons, Darren and Daryl Chandler and a daughter, Daphanie Chandler; two grandchildren, Koree Terrell and Airionna Thomas; two brothers; George Chandler (Katie), Robert Chandler (Shirley), five sisters; Jackie Chandler, Mildred Chandler, Geraldine Greene, Betty Chandler, Helen Morgan, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Willie was preceded in death by his wife, Mayme F. Chandler, his parents, and three sisters
