William Michael Anthony McCord, affectionately known as Tony, was born on November 18, 1980 to the late Jerry D. McCord, III and Kathy McCord. He was born in Indianapolis, IN where he flourished and then moved to California for a few years to later return back to Indianapolis. Tony was a great son, brother, uncle and a man that was true to his word and made the world laugh even when he was in pain.

Tony attended public schools in Indianapolis and graduated from Lawrence North High School in 1999. He earned an Associate of Science from Ivy Tech Community College.

As a son, Tony was very dedicated to his family. After his father had a stroke, Tony supported his mother by taking his father to doctors appointments and physical therapy. He made sure his father was taken care of and loved. When his mother needed support for her health, he rose to the occasion again, taking her to her appointments and finding rehabilitation facilities when needed for healing. Tony never shied away from his role as a dedicated son and was another reason why he was so loved. Family was everything to Tony and it showed every day.

As a brother, Tony and D.J. had a special relationship. Early in life D.J. was able to be his soccer coach and then turned into one of his biggest cheerleaders for life. They loved one another and always wanted the best for each other. Although there was a nine-year difference in age, they were very close. They had dreams of creating a legacy for the family and traveling the world. They were not able to travel the world but were able to start a legacy together. The last project they worked on together was restoring their father’s childhood home and creating a passive income for the business they started. Tony was a strong businessman and worked extremely hard at making anything he worked on perfect.

As an uncle, Tony loved on his niece like she was his daughter. They had a bond that could not be broken. When Lauren was born, Tony took his role as uncle very serious and always made sure his niece was shown love and support. Tony and Lauren would discuss all facets of life and he would share his knowledge and love with her daily. If she was celebrating a major event, he was there to cheer her on. She will be a part of his legacy forever!

Tony was a genius when it came to computers and networking. He helped so many people build or buy the right computer. Tony had a chance to use his skills and passion at Honda of Fishers. He was truly loved at the dealership. If you walked in with him, all you would hear was, “Tony, the man! I’m so glad to see ya.” He could work with anyone and solve their problem no matter how difficult the task. He always wanted the dealership to be on the cutting edge of technology and big on cyber security.

His true passion was comedy. If you had a chance to spend any time with Tony, he was going to have you laughing within minutes of meeting him. He loved working with his close friend Warren Hall and his cousin Renard Hirsch. When this trio would get together, your stomach was guaranteed to hurt from all the laughter. He was so quick witted that he could improvise any situation that he was in and have the entire room laughing. Tony could control a stage like he had been doing comedy for decades. He loved supporting other great comics as well at his home club, Morty’s.

He leaves to cherish fond memories, a loving brother, Jerry “D.J.” McCord, IV (Bridget); niece Lauren McCord; uncles and aunts, William Collier (Florence), Rev. Dr. T. Cody Collier (Sharon), Debbie Hirsch (Renard), Cheryl Acklin; cousins, Skyler Acklin (Brian), Camryn Acklin, Kim Frye (Darrell), Kristy Collier, Kensey Collier, Renard Hirsch, Ashley Roby (Brian), Ryan Hirsch (Lauren), Crystal, Amber Patton (Marcus), Necole White (George), Lee Cunningham (Elizabeth), Robin , Jenai Hayes (Millard), Jaffe Hendricks, and Rodney Hendricks. Honorary sister, Jennifer Williams. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry and Kathy McCord, III; aunt, Karen Collier; and cousin, Kelly Malone. He was also blessed with an abundance of extended families and true friends that he loved and loved him very much.
