WENDYANN BERTHA (SCANLAN) RUSHING was born January 19, 1971 at Evangelical Hospital in Chicago, Illinois to William Alfred and Ann Jeannine Scanlan.

She accepted Christ as her personal Savior and was baptized at 12 years old and she never back stepped. Wendy graduated from George Washington High School in Indianapolis, Indiana and she attended Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI). Wendy worked for the school of the deaf and home health care for many years.

Wendy took pleasure in helping others whenever she could and was a prominent figure in the lives of her mother, nieces and nephews.

Wendyann Bertha Rushing departed this life on Thursday, March 2, 2023 at the age of 52 years. Wendy will be greatly missed by all those who loved her dearly. Her father; paternal and maternal grandparents; and brothers, Mark and Mathew all preceded her in death.

She is survived by her children, Tavaun J. Jackson and Terrance D. Jackson and their father, Tuwaun Jackson; mother, Ann J. (Bailey) Scanlan; siblings: William Scanlan (her twin), Warren Scanlan (Tanya), Germaine Scanlan, Clarestine “Stinie” Gibson (Antoine), Maurence “Maure” Gibson, Je Neane “JeNe” Gibson (Bishop), Tewaun Spencer and Tyran Spencer; aunt, Lydia Sides; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends
