THERESA LEE SHELBY, the first child of Dorothy (Burks) McGuire and the late Curtis Shelby Sr., was born April 16, 1962 in Indianapolis, Indiana.

She received her education in the Indianapolis Public Schools and was a proud graduate of John Marshall High School. She continued her education to earn an Associate’s Degree in Nursing. As an LPN, Theresa displayed her passion for caring for others in various facilities with longevity at the Forest Manor Health Center.

Theresa, affectionately called “Ressy”, was an extremely family-oriented person who truly enjoyed making others smile! Her hobbies included: skating, dancing, traveling and spending time with her family and the many friends she made throughout the years.

Our dear mother, Theresa Shelby gained her wings on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at 11:15 pm. Left to treasure her beautiful legacy are her three children: Chrystionne, India (Flavien) and Toni; two grandchildren, Melanie and Marcel; mother, Dorothy (Burks) McGuire; siblings: Priscilla (Frank) and Curtis Jr.; half siblings and a host of nieces
and nephews.

  6. My Dear sweet cousin,What do I say. I wanted to see you more you said no all I do is sleep but we did call each other,Our last time together you came & picked me up and we went to the Goodwill together and out to eat. You were weak then but still pushed your way, I remember that day it was extremely windy the wind blew you down to the ground, we laughed it off and continued on. Our Career as Nurses was hard but we were able to raise our families! I will do my best to check in on Aunt Dot.
