Ray Francis Demmings was born on November 8, 1946, in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was the first born of the late Freddie J. Demmings and Lucille League Demmings.

Ray attended Indianapolis Public School #42 and later he graduated from Crispus Attucks High School in 1964.

Ray was employed by Saint Vincent Hospital in the laundry department and later by Butler University Food Service department until he retired in 2012.

Ray loved to watch TV especially the Detective stories and Westerns. He enjoyed watching sports and talking about it with his brother Richard. He got a kick out of playing card games, all variety, particularly “DAD” whether as a single player against his brother Meddie (who he was determined to beat) or partners with his brother James (they usually won), he took joy in the games. Also, Ray loved listening to Music.

Mr. Ray Francis Demmings departed this life on October 14, 2022, at the age of 75 years 11 months and 6 days. He was preceded in death by his parents. He leaves to cherish his memory 3 brothers: Meddie Lee Demmings, James Louis Demmings, and Richard Allen Demmings; 4 sisters: Freddie Lucille Stewart-Sanders (Troy), Helen Doris Demmings, Wanda Kay Farris, and Eunice Marie Rutland; a host of Nieces and Nephews; Cousins and Friends.
