Moses Lee Haralson

December 15, 1933 — March 21, 2020

Indianapolis, IN

Mr. Moses Lee Haralson was born in HarpervilleMississippi to Glover Haralson and LuElla Parrott Haralson on December 15, 1933.  He was from a large family of 12 children. 

 

Moses attended public school in Mississippi.  He helped work on the family farm and nearby farms as a child and young adult.   

 

Moses joined Long Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church in HarpervilleMS. At an early age. 

 

Moses was joined in Holy Matrimony to Lillie Frances Futch in July of 1956 in ForestMississippi.  The two moved to Florida and enjoyed days there as they started their new life together. Later they moved to IndianapolisIN and settled there and he continued to work for various companies until he was hired at the Indianapolis Water Company.  He worked at the Water Company for 30 years retiring in 1995.  He earned numerous service awards during his time of employment. 

 

Moses and Lillie had two children Moses Jr. and Thelesia.  He was a caring and very concerned father and took pride in being a hard worker for his family. 

 

Moses joined Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church in IndianapolisIN under the leadership of the Late Pastor Forrest Jefferson in 1960 along with his wife. 

 

Moses enjoyed working on cars, doing various handy man jobs, hunting, fishing and traveling. He enjoyed spending time with his family and going over stories of his life and giving us tidbits to go by. Always there to lend a hand and he never met a stranger, warm kind and could also be a very to the point kinda guy.  Moses was very dependable and a man of Integrity.  Loved watching the old re-runs of Westerns and other shows. 

 

Moses departed this life on Saturday, March 21, 2020.  He was preceded in death by his Father, Mother, three sisters Ada Mae Kyles, Arletha Martinez, and Dorretha Mann.  Six brothers, DQ, Exso, Howard, Charles, Glover, and George Haralson. 

 

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Lillie Frances of who he shared 63 years and 8 months of marriage. His Son Moses L. Haralson Jr. (Daphne) and his Daughter Thelesia Haralson-Crenshaw.  Sister Helen (James) Hutchins of CarthageMS. And Brother Chester (Ann) Haralson of IndianapolisIN. Grandchildren Qiana Shawntai Daniel, Dion Angelo Crenshaw , and Courtney Lee Haralson of IndianapolisIN. India Gray of Atlanta GA, Sierra Gray of Tampa, FL and Darryl Hardy, of Indianapolis, IN.   Great Grandchildren Dionne Angelize Crenshaw, Dion Angelo Crenshaw Jr. of Dallas, Texas and Demaree Arthur Crenshaw and Carson Camille Dyson of Indianapolis, IN.  Godmother Geraldine Mason and a host of family and friends.
