Mary Delorise Mapp was born to the late John Henry Luckey Sr. and Essie Mae Mapp on February 11, 1953 in White Plains, GA. She moved to Florida then later relocated to Indianapolis, IN to make this her hometown. Mary gave her life to Christ at an early age.
She graduated from Shortridge High School. Mary worked in dietary for many years until becoming a homemaker.
“Mapp”, as she was affectionately called, was the life of the party in her days. She loved her children, grandchildren and family dearly. If you needed a place to go or something to eat “Mapp” was the person to go to. She welcomed everyone. Her memories will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
Mary Delorise Mapp departed this life on Saturday, September 26, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family. Her son, Marvin Mapp; sister, Beatrice Mapp of Detroit; brothers: Charlie Mapp, Sylvester Mapp, Wilbert Mapp and Johnny Luckey Jr.; and two great-grandchildren all preceded her in death.
She is survived by three daughters: Jocklyn Mapp of Jacksonville, FL, Sylvia and Latonia Mapp both of Indianapolis, IN; four sisters: Annie Mae Mapp of Florida, Jessie Randolph of Detroit, Caledonia Mapp of Ohio and Shirley Hogan of Indianapolis; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; favorite niece, Nikki Mapp; and a host of nieces, nephews, loving family and friends.
