Larry Allen, the son of Raymond U. Allen Sr. and Betty J. (Caldwell) Allen, was born January 22, 1959, in Indianapolis, Indiana.
He received his education through Indianapolis Public Schools #44 for grade school and was a graduate of Northwest High School.
Larry worked many years as a Foreman at United Finishing before switching careers and working for his sister’s janitorial service, Clean Source Inc.
He developed his relationship with Christ at an early age and he was affiliated with various churches throughout his life. One of the churches he most often attended was Travelers Missionary Baptist Church with his beloved mother when she was alive.
Larry was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, relative and friend who will be long remembered for his loving, kind, caring and giving ways. He will also be remembered for his blunt and very confident personality. His favorite pastime was watching sports, criminal shows and investigation series on the ID (Investigation Discovery) channel. He also enjoyed hanging out with his friends as well.
Larry Allen departed this life on Saturday, May 7, 2022, at the age of 63 years, 3 months, and 16 days. He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond U. Allen S.; mother, Betty J. Allen; and infant daughter, Lori McClain.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory, his longtime companion, Cheryl Walker; two daughters, Shanté N. Lewis (Freddie) and Shalisa L. Cooper (Demond); two grandchildren, Erinn S. and Emoni J. Lewis; eight siblings: Sara L. Allen, Raymond U. Allen Jr., Pamela K. Allen (Ray), Mark E. Allen Sr., Deborah A. Carroll (Ezra), Dwight R. Allen (Carmen), Jeffrey L. Allen Sr. and Patricia L. Malone (Michael). As well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
