Lakeshia Renee Hill

August 16, 1977 — April 17, 2021

Indianapolis, Indiana

Lakeshia Renee Hill was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on August 16, 1977 to Lathan Leroy Hill and Geraldine Austin.  Lakeshia was raised on the south side of Indianapolis where she attended school #60, Shortridge Junior High, and Broad Ripple High School.  Lakeshia excelled academically and was a social butterfly.  After high school, Lakeshia attended IUPUI, where she pursued a bachelor’s degree.  She was preceded in death by her mother and her father.

Lakeshia accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Olivet Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Squires.  As an adult, she joined Cornerstone of Hope with Bishop Stephen L. Wilson.  She loved her church, church family, her Bishop, and first Lady Irma.  She loved God and leaned on her favorite scripture, Jerimiah 29:11, throughout her life.

Lakeshia worked for Anthem in the medical claims department for many years until her department was closed.  She then joined, IU Health where she worked as an analyst in the billing department.

Lakeshia, called Keshia by most, was a joy to be around.  She was short in stature but her personality was bigger than a giant.  Her smile lit up the room and she was the life of the party.  She could make anyone smile on their worse day.  In addition to her upbeat personality, she exuded love to everyone that crossed her path.  Keshia lived her life to the fullest.  Keshia enjoyed traveling, being with friends and family, and making memories with her loved ones.  She unselfishly gave of her time and supported everyone.  Keshia was a true “lady”.  She loved expensive perfumes, makeup, and was very rarely caught in a flat shoe.  Everyone who knew her, knows how she loved her heels.  She loved cooking, posting videos and pictures of her dishes, and coined the term “Something Like A Chef”.    She adored her big brother, Damon, and was his protector.  She loved her sister in love, Shonda, her nieces, nephew, and great nieces with all her heart.  She had an unbreakable bond with her longtime companion, Tommie, and knew he always had her back.  More than anything, she loved being a mommy to her two girls.  They loved trying new recipes, going out to dinner, and their special Target trips.  They were the light of her life.  She loved making memories with them and their bonds will never be broken.

Lakeshia leaves to cherish her memories her beloved children Tommie Nicole and Tiernie Lee Reives; One Brother, Damon (Shonda) Hill; Her longtime companion, Tommie Reives;  Six Aunts, Mary Francis Austin, Tommie Brooks, Marsha L. Hill, Yvonne M. Sullivan, Charlotte Cowherd, Dorothy L. Hill; Four Uncles, Danny Austin, Theodore Austin, Donald Austin, David Hill; Three nieces, Ambereja Jones, Dameona Hill, Zarhria Hill; One Nephew, Damon Hill Jr.; Two Great Nieces, Ymiyrah Stewart and Lailah Hill and a host of cousins and friends
