Juanita Lillian English

Ms. Juanita Lillian (Anderson) English, age 87, peacefully departed this world and joined her Lord and Savior in heaven on Wednesday May 4, 2022.

Juanita was born on April 25, 1935 to Alma (Harris) and Alfred Anderson in Indianapolis, Indiana. She attended St. Bridget’s Catholic School and graduated from Crispus Attucks High School.

She was united in matrimony to Robert English and was blessed with two bonus children Regina and Ronald.

Juanita worked for and retired from the United States Social Security Administration. After retirement, her love of children, meeting new people and hearing about their families, led her to work for the Indianapolis Public School with their At Your Service (AYS) aftercare program, the Methodist Hospital gift shop, and at the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church preschool program.

Juanita accepted Christ and was a devoted, longstanding member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church where she was an active member of various ministries and sang in the choir and gospel chorus until her health deteriorated.

In her spare time, Ms. English was an active member of Tau Gamma Delta sorority and enjoyed spending time with friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Clarisse, nephew Clarence, great niece Brandye, great-great nephew Nico, and her stepchildren Ronald and Regina.

Her loss will be deeply felt by her remaining family, nieces Carol (James) Leavell, Juel DeHoniesto, Janice DeHoniesto, Robert DeHoniesto, and Larry (Doris) DeHoniesto, great nieces and nephews Chris Bluiett, Brigette (Sam) Carr, Jamaine (Heather) Walker, Danielle DeHoniesto, Kammy (Thomas) Bronaugh, Robert Davis, Manone DeHoniesto, cousins Jackie Durham Mack, Louise Proctor, and Ernesto Yanez, Jr, honorary nieces jackie English and Lynn English-Johnson, and a host of family and friends.
