Jenkins Taylor Jr.

Jenkins Taylor Jr. was born to Evergreen and Jenkins Taylor Sr. on June 8, 1942 in Tuskegee, Alabama.

He was educated in the public schools in Macon County, Tuskegee, Alabama. Jenkins Jr. attended Tuskegee Institute High School. He accepted Christ in 1952 at Friendship Baptist Church in Tuskegee, Alabama.

He moved to Indianapolis, Indiana in 1961. Jenkins Jr. was united in Holy Matrimony to Hattie (Hatton) Taylor on October 6, 1968. To their union four children were born: Tammy, Robert, Thomas and Ever. They were married seventeen years.

Jenkins Jr. enjoyed traveling with his family and friends. He loved fishing, hunting, music and helping others who were in need. He worked for Anding Roofing for twenty years. He also worked for Stenz Construction for ten years. Later in life Jenkins Jr. started his own company JT Renovations where he enjoyed working until he retired. He later remarried Rochelle (Thurman) Taylor on June 6, 2000.

Jenkins Taylor Jr. departed this life on Wednesday, December 29, 2021. His mother, Evergreen Taylor; father, Jenkins Taylor Sr.; brothers, Douglas Taylor and Elmer Taylor; son, Robert Taylor; and grandson, Jamar Mansfield all preceded him in death.

He leaves to cherish his memory to his wife, Rochelle Taylor; daughters: Lisa Coleman (Terry), Tammy Taylor and Ever Taylor (Jermaine); sons: Jenkins Mansfield (Hope), Thomas Taylor and Anthony Mansfield (Kelly); sister, Lucille Taylor-Perry of Maryland; brothers: Robert Taylor (Faye), Martel Taylor (Debra) of New York and Calloway Taylor of Alabama; ten grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
