Glenn M. Johnson

Glenn McQueen Johnson was born on April 24, 1959 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Bernice Cruthird and Lessie Odessa Johnson. He gave his life to the Lord at an early age and was baptized at Little Egypt Baptist Church. Glenn later joined Eastern Star Church where he remained a member until his illness.

He attended Indianapolis Public Schools, graduating from John Marshall High School in 1978. Glenn was a hard worker starting at RCA and later Boehringer Manheim/Roche Diagnostics. He then worked for the United States Postal Service in which he retired after 20 years as a mail carrier.

Glenn loved reading the bible and inspirational books as well as sharing scriptures with family and friends.

He was a devoted friend to everyone who met him. Glenn enjoyed life in which he spent his past time playing cards, dominoes, and movie nights with his family. Glenn also took pleasure in watching sports especially the Indianapolis Colts and the Indiana Pacers. He took a liking to cars, especially his red Corvette. He treasured his dog, Teddy who faithfully stayed by his side and he enjoyed family vacations in Orlando, Florida and the mountains in Gatlinburg, Tennessee.

On October 19,1991, Glenn was united in Holy Matrimony to the love of his life, Stephanie Myers-Johnson. Glenn was a dedicated husband for 28 years and was a devoted family man who viewed his family as his reasons for life. Glenn and his big brother, Leslie “Ronnie” Johnson, were inseparable. Glenn loved his mother and enjoyed stopping by to have lunch with her everyday along his mail route. His pride and joy was his family. A conversation with Glenn meant hearing about their adventures. Glenn loved telling jokes and always filled everyone with laughter with his sense of humor.

Glenn McQueen Johnson departed this life with his family by his side on Thursday, January 16, 2020. He was preceded in death by his infant son, Jalen Christopher Johnson; father, Lessie Odessa Johnson; and brother, Karl Lynn Johnson.

Cherishing his memory forever are his wife, Stephanie Myers-Johnson; children: Micah Johnson, LaShantée Evans, Brittany Johnson, Danielle Johnson and Taylor Johnson; eight grandchildren; mother, Bernice Cruthird; siblings: Leslie Johnson (Angela), Tamara Starks and Derrick Johnson; a host of loving relatives and friends.
