Sister Ella J. Luke
Mother, Friend and Sister 1947-2021
Our dear Ella Braddock was born to parents, Matthew and V’ella Braddock in Faulkner, Mississippi on September 12, 1947, along with two siblings, Robert Braddock of Shannon, MS and Elizabeth Braddock of Indianapolis, IN. Later in the 1960s Ella ventured to Chicago, IL where she met Wilburt Luke, their union led to three offspring: Kenneth Luke of Orlando, FL, Curtis Luke and Tommy Luke both of Indianapolis, IN. Ella and Wilburt are grandparents to: Kenneth Luke Jr., Jeremy Luke, Kristopher Luke, Natasha Mason, Kimani Luke, Devont’e Luke, Elaysha Luke, De’asia Clinton, Aaron Payne, Tajnise Luke, Tommy Camble, Tyson Luke, Nakyra Luke and Landon Martin.
Our Sister Luke turned her life around in 1974, she began studying the Bible with Jehovah’s Witnesses and she symbolized her dedication by water baptism in January of 1975. Ella took seriously the command given at Matthew 28:19 to go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations; as anyone coming into her presence that was not serving Jehovah was going to know something about Jehovah God when they left. Ella ran her own self-made cleaning service for more than 25 years which supported many full-time pioneers from various congregations and that also included preaching to a lot of her clients that she serviced.
Our dear Sister Luke was 73 at the time she went to sleep on April 1, 2021. She happily served at five congregations in Indianapolis: Grandview, Meridian, Riverside, Arlington Heights and East Lawrence. Sister Luke served as a full-time pioneer, teaching and disciple making work.
All will miss her infectious laughter and warm friendly greeting and smile. She is at rest now which means no more suffering and no more pain.
We look forward to the hour when all those in the memorial tombs will hear His voice and come out… John 5:28
Virtual service will be held on Friday, April 16, 2021 at 7pm on Zoom:

Hello Tommy/Kenny. I was so proud to attend the service, but sorry I couldn’t stay afterward. It is our 33rd wedding anniversary today, and my husband and I had plans. Kenny, I would have liked to have met your wife. Your Mom was near and dear to both our Mom, and our hearts. We all grew up right there off of Boulevard place; worked with her; pioneered with her. When she is awakened, very soon, we will share how we preached until we saw her again. I always liked how hard she worked, how her disability didn’t slow her up a bit. As a matter of fact she out-worked us all. She showed me how to truly clean a house! 🙂 I was sad to hear she went to sleep, but, aren’t we glad we have a hope and it’s just sleep? In a blink, we will be laughing her wonderful laugh with her again and hugging Curtis. Lean on Jehovah to help you through the dark moments, because they will come at the most unexpected times. That’s what held us up when Mama went to sleep. We will love you guys forever!
Hi Kenny and Tommy this is Elsa. I can’t wait to see Ella‘s face in the New World. She has been an outstanding example in the ministry and in supporting other pioneers in the full-time service. I will never be grateful enough for the training for the training I received from her and how to clean a house. Ella and I both started pioneering February 1983 together. I will continue to remember our anniversary until I see her in the New World. Love Elsa
Our Dear Sister Ella Luke, You will be so very much missed. We know that you are just sleeping for a short time. And that you are in no more pain and suffering. We long for the time that is just Around The Corner, To Welcome You Back in the Promised Resurrection. To Serve Jehovah in Paradise, Forever. Until then, we all will miss your Wonderful Smile & Laughter. Always remembering that you were always one of the First ones to arrive at the Kingdom Hall for every Meeting. And that you always brought a Bag Of Candy to Share with Everyone. We will see you very soon Sis .
