Donald Edward Sanders “Donnie” was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on October 24, 1944 to Cecilia M. Dinkins and George A. Sanders.

Donnie was educated in the Indianapolis Public School system graduating from Emmerich Manuel High School He would later attend the Indianapolis Skill Center where he received a Certificate of Upholstery. Donnie retired from Arvin Industry after 30 years of service in 2002.  He worked for five years as a greeter for Sam’s Club.

Donnie was united in Holy Matrimony to Annie Jean Hess on November 6, 1971.  To this union two children, Clarence Edward and Kimberly Deschon’ were born.

Donnie was a member of Eastern Star Church congregation under the leadership of Pastor Jeffrey A. Johnson Sr. He enjoyed a variety of Christian music with the Williams Brothers being his favorite gospel group.

Donnie was a loving, kind man with a big heart. He liked nothing more than being with his family and friends. He was always ready for family get togethers, often the “Grill Man” in charge. Father’s Day spent together was his fondest memories. Donnie liked the Chicago Bears, blues music, bowling and fishing.  He was also a mean opponent at spades. Donnie touched so many lives; he will be truly missed.

Donald Edward Sanders “Donnie” departed this life on Saturday, November 14, 2020 at the age of 76 years. His parents; two brothers, Larry Sanders and David Dinkins; and two sisters, Beverly Sanders and Arlene Sanders all preceded him in death.

Donnie leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Annie Sanders; son, Clarence Edward Sanders (Cecilia); daughter, Kimberly Sanders; granddaughters Mikale Monique Rogers and Lauryn Deschon Sanders; grandson, Clarence Edward Sanders Jr.; four sisters: Carolyn Murphy, Janice Coleman, Carol Jean and Karen Lee; two brothers, Terry Thomas and Adrian Sanders. He also leaves to honor his memory a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
