Donald C. Wood Jr.

Donald Clifford Wood Jr., affectionally known as “Casper” and “Bookie”, was born January 3, 1966, in Indianapolis, Indiana to Donald C. Wood Sr. and Rebecca A. Taylor.

He received his education at Indianapolis Public School #41 and he attended Northwest High School.

Donald gave his life to Christ, was baptized, and joined Abounding Grace Church of God at the age of 43 years old.

On December 6, 1999 Donald was united in Holy Matrimony to Kannice R. Sims and together their life of love spanned over 24 years.

Donald was a dedicated employee at D&C Pizza for 12 years. He later received his CDL license in 2013 and began doing what he always wanted to do driving “big trucks”.

As a very active father, Donald coached his son, Lil Donald’s football team “The Jets” from 2009-2015. He enjoyed road trips with his uncle, Junior as well as fishing with his uncle, Jerry, cousin, Brian and good friend, Papoose. Donald loved being around family and friends. He will be truly missed.

Donald Clifford Wood Jr. departed this life on Thursday, February 9, 2023, at the age of 57 years, 1 month and 6 days.  His father, Donald C. Wood Sr.; grandmother, Rebecca F. Williams and grandfathers, Charles C. Williams and Jessie Wood, all preceded him in death.

He leaves to cherish his memory his true love, Kannice R. Wood; their three children: Donya Wood, Donald C. Wood III and Kannisha Wood; eldest sons: William C. Sharp and Devaughn “Casper Boo” Vales; eldest daughter, Natasha Townsley; stepdaughter, Jasmine Sims; grandchildren: Skylar, Giovanni, Ci’Anni, Jasi’Onnia, Kentrell, Shahean, Shakira, Shania, DeVaughn Jr. and Pooh Pooh; mother, Rebecca Taylor; brother, Theodore Taylor III (Tamika Smith); sister, Elaine Pervine; grandmother, Mary Wood; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, loving relatives and friends.
